The remarkable wines of Saint Clair Family Estate have triumphed this week at the San Francisco International Wine Competition. The judges conferred enormous honour on Saint Clair by awarding the family owned Marlborough winery the 'Best of Nation Award'.
The San Francisco International Wine Competition is considered the largest and most influential international wine competition in America. The competition chooses to award wineries from various countries, as they believe it promotes the wines which otherwise might not be recognised in the United States.
Saint Clair was the pick of the bunch this year, with over 70 wineries from New Zealand participating in the event. The world-class winery was selected as 'Best of Nation' based on its portfolio as well as the medals won. Top awards given to Saint Clair at this prestigious show were as follows;
• Best of Nation Award: Saint Clair Family Estate
• Double Gold Medal: Saint Clair Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2010
• Gold Medal: Saint Clair Vicar’s Choice Sauvignon Blanc 2010
• Gold Medal: Saint Clair Pioneer Block 18 Snap Block Sauvignon Blanc 2010
“The quality focus throughout each and every aspect of our business has enabled us to produce world class wines of excellence" commented Neal Ibbotson, Managing Director of Saint Clair Family Estate.
