MOMA MyOwnMAsterpiece competition

Umberto Cesari have recently launched a new label for the MOMA range of wines to follow their previous tribute to Giorgio Morandi. True to their belief that art, like wine, is an expression of a culture and a region, Cesari asked local art students from Bologna and Ravenna to create a label that best expressed the identity of their MOMA wines. Five finalist were selected by a panel of experts from the 37 works of art submitted. The winery received over 2,000 votes on their website between 10th March and 6th April to select the winning artwork.

Paper Glass by Elena Valentini was the majority vote, securing the local artist a scholarship worth 2,500 euros and a three year showcase of her work as the new label for the MOMA range.

MOMA is a line of wines conceived for consumers who prefer youthful wines with an international feel. Adriano Baccilieri, Director of Bologna's Accademia di Belle Arti believes Paper Glass came out on top due to the freshness of the artwork which reflects the wine perfectly.
