Annual Tastings of Wines from Spain 2011

New producer Javier Sanz Viticultor produces top quality wines from 104 hectares of vineyard around the town of La Seca in Rueda. Specialising in the native Verdejo, their wines are soft, aromatic and full bodied and are seen as some of the best white wines in Spain. The winery was recently singled out in Decanter as one of the regions best producers.

Another new wine on the Hallgarten Druitt stand is the Monte Hermoso Joven from Ribera del Duero. Produced by Bodegas Garcia de Aranda this youthful, elegant red made from Tempranillo is a welcome addition to any list.

Novum Wines

There will be a range of their forward-thinking Spanish producers on taste at theNovum stand (Stand 31). From the trailblazing Moli dels Capellans in Conca de Barbera to Compania Vitivinicola Tandem in Navarra. Novum’s producers are the perfect example of ‘new-wave’ Spain, combining Spain’s sunshine, terroir and old vines with modern technology and a fresh approach to producing exciting, world-class wines.
